The first two isometric Fallout titles featured locations primarily on the west coast of the United States, taking place in nuclear wastelands formerly comprised of California and Oregon. When Bethesda took the reigns of the Falloutseries starting with Fallout 3, there was plenty of room for the series' new developer to build unique but inspired lore.
